Dr. Ernest Darkoh is an internationally respected expert in strategic planning, systems and large-scale health system programme implementation. His recent work focuses on using new cutting-edge technologies to radically improve healthcare delivery and catalyze broader development sector outcomes. Ernest has worked globally with governments, international normative organizations and the private sector. 

Ernest was recognized by New African Magazine as one of the 100 most influential Africans, he was elected Social Entrepreneur of the year in 2015 by the World Economic Forum and named one of eighteen “Global Health Heroes” by TIME Magazine. Ernest earned his BS in Chemistry and Biochemistry & Molecular Biology from the University of Wisconsin, his MD from Harvard Medical School and his MPH from Harvard School of Public Health. He completed his MBA at the Said School of Business at Oxford University as a Fulbright Scholar. 

Ernest serves on the BroadReach Board of Managers.

Dr. John Sargent is a globally recognized innovator focused on developing 4th Industrial Revolution technologies to radically improve healthcare delivery and catalyze broader development sector outcomes.  

John co-founded BroadReach in 2003 and currently serves on the Board of Managers. He has been recognized by the World Economic Forum as one of the Social Entrepreneurs of the Year in 2015, by Frost & Sullivan with the Visionary Leadership Award in Healthcare, and by Devex as one of the Top 40 Under 40 Leaders in Development. 

Prior to co-founding BroadReach, John was a management consultant specializing in strategic and clinical operations projects. John earned an undergraduate degree from Dartmouth College, a master’s degree from Oxford University as a Fulbright Scholar and an MD from Harvard Medical School. 

Athos Staub has over 30years of industry experience working with companies such as McKinsey & Company, Swisscard, Aduno Group, Sanacare and as an independent consultant. He holds a Master Degree in Management from the University of St. Gallen and has held C-level positions in the Consumer Finance and Healthcare industries.

Bob Fleming is a Managing Director and head of the Healthcare IT practice for Bowen Advisors, a technology-focused investment bank.  He has been a successful venture capitalist, strategic advisor, and entrepreneur since 1985. In 1995, he founded Prism Venture Partners, a Boston-area healthcare and technology venture capital firm, which he built as Managing Partner to manage $1.25 billion. Prior to founding Prism, Bob was a General Partner with Norwest Venture Partners and the Vista Group. In addition to investment banking, Bob is a strategic advisor to Digital Health and other technology companies, helping them design and execute strategies to optimize their success.

Chris is the Managing Principal at Hamilton Advisory LLC, which provides strategic, financial, and operational guidance to firms operating internationally in the government sector. Chris routinely advises clients on corporate development/M&A, growth strategy, compliance, and organizational performance. Prior to founding the firm in 2009, he served as the Chief Financial Officer for a diverse group of high-growth companies, including the American Institutes for Research, Thales Communications, TTC (now JDSU), and Proxy Aviation Systems.

Urs Baumann is co-founder and CEO of PG Impact Investments. He has been active in impact investing since 2012 and has 25 years of experience as CEO of leading Swiss and international financial institutions and management consultancies. His areas of expertise include investment banking, asset management, consumer finance & credit management. Prior work experience includes Bellevue Group, Lindorff Group, Swisscard and McKinsey & Company.

Paul has over 30 years’ experience in senior executive roles and acts as a coach in helping companies through digital transformation, consulting/ advisory, innovation and building effective go to market models. Paul has been a Partner in various global consulting and technology firms where he has led these enterprise business both at a regional and global level with Go to Market, Strategy, and Delivery accountability across many verticals. He is a passionate, customer focused leader leading through values based leadership.

Wisdom Mkandawire is responsible for the financial leadership of BroadReach. He provides oversight and best practice guidance for the global finance teams across the organization. Wisdom has an extensive background in the financial management of international development organizations funded by USAID and DFID. In addition to his sector expertise, Wisdom has led large organizations and has very strong systems experience and technical financial credentials.

Siraaj Adonis is responsible for Human Resources, with a directive to nurture a high performance, innovative and entrepreneurial culture for the organization’s global operations. Siraaj has over 14 years of experience in human resources of which 9 years is in the healthcare sector, including providing administrative, operational and strategic management services in the cancer care domain.

Ruan jointly steers BroadReach’s specialized technology-enabled management solutions efforts, to ensure that the technology that is developed meets the needs of our clients. He is responsible for the execution and success of BroadReach’s technology strategy, product roadmap and business plan, product engineering and product operations to support the company’s aggressive growth and expansion plans. Ruan has over 15 years’ experience in all aspects of the software development and support life-cycle.

Joni is responsible for our brand development, marketing and communications. Her team ensures that our brand essence is translated into everything we do, from marketing materials and media engagements, to staff communications. Joni brings fresh perspective to the leadership team with her diverse experience across social enterprise, media, consumer brands, philanthropy and investor relations.

A digital user experience expert with a career spanning 20 years in designing customer centric software as a service (SAS) products. He has worked globally on technology platform rollouts for Intel, Microsoft, Johnson and Johnson and the United Nations.

Lauren oversees contracts and compliance, legal and governance, planning and strategy, and administration across the BroadReach Group. She has extensive global health development experience, advanced training in business and finance and in program management. She has worked across USA, France, South Africa and UK.

Todd has a strong academic grounding, extensive leadership and managerial roles, and effective engagement with local and international development partners, adds to the wealth of experience he brings to this position. As well as leading the Health Development business he is also they is Chief of Party for BroadReach’s PEPFAR funded, USAID Programs in South Africa.

Mandy is the Program Director for the Integrated Decision and Analytics Support Program, based in Zambia. In her role, Mandy governs the health information integration and interoperability of health information from the national Electronic Health Records system to improve healthcare delivery and achieve epidemiological control of HIV and TB. Mandy’s expertise draws from her 14-year career in public health programs.

Dr Kitua is the Program Director for the Regional Action through Data Program, based in Kenya. Most recently served as the Africa Regional Director of the USAID/EPT-2 Preparedness and Response project in Uganda. He has also worked as a malaria research leader for WHO/TDR in Switzerland, and director-general of the National Institute for Medical Research in Tanzania. His expertise and experience cover infectious diseases, clinical research and epidemiology, national and global health security, health systems and public health.
